Darkie Mullis lived at No 24 at the beginning of last century. As he married and left soon after, I would a No-one can really remember why he was called ‘Darkie’. In fact, no-one can remember his proper name! Nicknames ‘stick’!

=THE TENANTS OF NOS. Nos 38, 39, 40, 41= ...though they could go out and play, they could not invite any friends in. No-one knew how the children were fed, but they seemed to be well looked after
